CSA Shares
Share Descriptions
The main growing season is 18 weeks long, providing sufficient produce from the first week of June through the first week of October. All of the produce we provide is certified organic through the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
We provide three types of main season “garden shares”. To see an example of what a share might look like in August, please click any of the highlighted words.
This share is designed for a single produce lover. If you plan on splitting a share with someone, we would not encourage getting this share. There will be weeks that the standard garden and large garden get more products in their box. For instance, if a standard share gets melons two weeks in a row, the small share should expect only one week of melons. It is the only way for spiltting up some items without over supplying the standard and large share.
This share is designed for a small family or a couple of produce lovers. You may split this share with an individual, but it is not recommended between families. As an owner of this share, and the large garden, you can expect to experience all varieties of vegetables grown on the farm. The pick your own opportunities may be more readily available and of greater quantity than the Individual Garden Share.
This share is designed for a large family of produce lovers. If you want to split shares amongst families, this is the share to buy. This share could entitle the owner to pick your own opportunities for preserving, when notified. Thursday evening Grand Junction folks should expect two standard garden share boxes. This will make the boxing system more efficient. Tuesday folks that pick-up at the farm may recieve an item in preserving quantities. This will give us an alternative avenue to reach share value and be of equivalent value to Thursday pick-up.
These memberships are available to be picked up off the farm in Grand Junction or in the Redlands, once a week, for an additional cost. You can also join us at the farm, in Palisade, on Tuesday evening or Saturday morning.
Work Requirement
All garden shares are now required to commit to a WORK INVESTMENT, upon signing up for the season. This commitment requires EACH ADULT shareholder to participate in 2 HRS of farm-related work for the ENTIRE SEASON. For instance, if your membership consists of two adults and has commited to a individual garden share, than we ask you to put forth 4 hours of work for the season. It is dependent on the number of adults in the mumbership, not the size of the share. More information on how to sign up can be seen by clicking the highlighted link above.
