Cameron Place CSA
The Cameron Place CSA is searching for a new farm manager for the 2012 growing season. Scott and Jessica did a good job in 2011, and have decided to look for other jobs with higher salaries. I appreciate their enthusiasm and hard work, and wish them well.
As a farmer who has been dependent on risk-based income for 33 years, I firmly believe that a successful CSA manager must be willing to share a portion of the risk that crops and income may fail from natural causes beyond our control. More importantly, success also hinges on the things that a farmer and farm manager can control, and difficult choices are inherent in running any enterprise.
The farm grounds, barn and greenhouse are in great shape due to the good work of Ben Wilke, Scott and Jessica Washkowiak, Ben Hill, Emily, Garance, Jessica E., Julio, and our work-share volunteers and WWOOFers. I am confident that we will find excellent candidates for the Cameron Place's farm manager's job from a pool that includes former interns and other individuals who are eager for the opportunity to lead a CSA that is well-established and fully equipped to meet the needs of our local food and farming community.
Please write to cameronplacecsa@bresnan.net with your concerns, questions or suggestions.
Thank you,
Thomas Cameron

The 2011 season was such a success and we could not have done it with out all the support of our members. If it was not for you coming out to the farm on your days off or participating in "weed wednesday", onion planting, potato harvesting and helping with the Main Street Community Garden this season would not have been as much fun or as successfull. It is so rewarding to have the opportunity to meet all the wonderful people who enjoy the food we grow. As a farmer there are many times that you never know where your product is going and being a consumer you never know where your product is from. Being a part of a Community Supported Agriculture farm is just one small step of a much bigger issue. I hope that you all enjoyed the Cameron Place CSA this year and are looking forward to the 2012 season. If you have any feedback for us please fill out our survey or contact us. To help you and the farm we have started pre-registration for the 2012 season.
For those of you participating in the Fall Garden Share we cant wait to see you Wednesday October 19.

Diana with world table cooking school came to the farm last Tuesday and gave us some fresh new cooking tips from the bounty that the farm has to offer. We started with a awesome no cook tomato sauce over pasta. The suace was rich with fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, onion, parmesan cheese, other garden herbs a splash of olive oil and vinegar then just a touch of salt and pepper. So yummy! We then moved to a great green summer salad with edibel flowers and lovely french balsamic dressing. We also learned a great melon salad and last but not least peach cobbler. We had so much fun eating, laughing, and enjoying all the flavors of the field to table cooking demo.

We wanted to thank out friends at the CEC (Colorado Environmental Coalition) for supporting the CSA and for such a great BBQ. We had so much fun dancing to Flat Top Reed, Eating good food, and meeting new people. Celebrating the warm spring night was just what we needed to get ready for another great growing season.
The Dual Imersion Academy (DIA) had a field trip to the farm on thursday we had such a great time with the fourty 1st graders and we cant wait to see you again! Below are some pictures of the day!
The spring Salad Share is finally here! We have been anxiously waiting for many of our crops to grow and thankfully the rain is helping this years bounty get off to a good start. In anticipation of the full season share the salad share really helps us get through these hard next few weeks. It is such a treat to enjoy the wonderful flavors of spring rain and crisp air along with the spice of arugala, radishes, and baby turnips filling our plates and bellies. To us the fist harvest is a celebration of what is about to take place. Savoring and enjoying our delicious salad greens and every leaf knowing that they don’t last all summer is truly a very special time at the Cameron Place CSA.
